I’ve been away for a long time, all the while with db0 demanding I start posting again.

Well, I have read Waldheri’s confession, and figured it’s time I confess my own.

Forgive me father, for I have sinned. I haven’t been to confession for 11 years. The last time I was still in Catholic school and the friar told me I’d get a beating if I didn’t come up with a good confession. I was quite dishonest because of that, I made up a bunch of sins to avoid the beating. Sorry for lying in your face. Also I forgot to mention that I had taken a leak in the friar’s holy water. What’s his status by the way? I haven’t heard of him for ages, but I suspect he’s training the CIA in special interrogation techniques for use in Guantanamo.

Forgive me father, for I have sinned. When I left that Catholic school I also stopped reading your holy book. Mostly because I finally had the free choice on which books to read, without getting threatened with a wooden ruler. But when you write the sequel can you put some orcs and elves in it? Some tough ass wizards as well perhaps. Wouldn’t it be much cooler if Jesus had a magic wand and shouted “You shall not pass” at those bloody green-skinned Romans?

Forgive me father, for I have sinned. I broke an oath. When your servants arrived in my ancient fatherland, they made my ancestors swear never to serve their ancient gods any longer. Of course the oath was made with a torch near their home and a blade near their neck, but that’s inconsequential. I apparently forgot that these oaths sworn to you count for many future generations as well. I have reverted to honouring my own kind, but I can see now how wrong I am.

Forgive me father, for I have sinned. When my biology teachers mentioned Darwin to me, the whole thing made sense. When I saw the proof to myself through the practice of science, I became even more stubborn in these false beliefs. At the time, I didn’t know yet all this “evidence” was just an attempt to frame your son. It must have been great for Jesus to ride on the backs of dinosaurs. Was it a T-Rex?

Forgive me father, for I have sinned. As a 12 year old boy I began exploring my own body and have done things so vile in the privacy of my bedroom that you must have grown blind just from watching me play with socks. Obviously I hadn’t learned the message of wholesome sing-a-longs such as this one. Out of repentance for my sins, I dedicate that song to you.

I’m supposed to say a bunch of Hail Mary’s now, right?

This time no world news, no long essays. Just a little story about what happened to me today. You know, the kind of thing blogs exist for in the first place. ;-)

Over here, we have this christian sect called Jehovah’s witnesses. I think they’re international. Today I was home alone, and two of them rung my doorbell. As a small kid I was already taught never to open the door for preachers. But heck, I was curious. Besides, I wanted to see how they would deal with their faith under pressure. If it’s of any interest, I was wearing my T-shirt from Stormwarrior as I welcomed them inside. A shirt depicting a Viking warrior who smashes in a christian preacher’s skull.

I offered them a seat and a coffee, and then I began my questioning. Question one went something like: “Is it true your sect interprets the bible as being literal?”

The two witnesses in question were a young couple. A man and a woman. I doubt they’re much older than I am. Early 20s, around 25 at most. The guy started his rhetoric, about how they weren’t a sect, and that I had to choose my words different. Then the woman added that the word interpret was also judgemental, because the bible is god’s direct word, and therefore not open to interpretation. Anyway, given their objections I just smiled and added that they answered my first question enough.

My second question was: “Coming from a bible that is the direct word of an infallible god, what existed first. Humans or trees?” Both answered the trees. Now, that’s fine. Genesis 1 (fn) does indeed state that mankind was created last. Genesis 2 (fn) however states that man was created, then everything else was created, then man was placed in it.

So basically, I pointed this out to them. Apparently they weren’t very trained preachers yet. Because after just one contradiction they already began mumbling about how they would have to check with their “Elder” and that they themselves weren’t wise enough to answer such a critical question.

Last words we shared as they left the house were “If your elder can’t answer the question properly, feel free to return. I’m keeping two chairs reserved at the dark side.” After which they were racing to get away from me as soon as possible.

It was so cute to see. Two young people, so in love, so bonded together. And so misguided. I love that kind of people. They give me a reason to keep fighting.

And to conclude. While I was doing some research to doublecheck that I didn’t say anything wrong to them, I stumbled across the wikipedia disambiguation page of genesis. They had a long list of the term genesis in fiction. Yet the bible story wasn’t in that category. I corrected this error and classified the bible story under fiction together with the genesises from Marvel, DC and Star Trek. I wonder if that counts as vandalism or not though.

Footnotes:

Genesis 1: [After creating everything else] Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Genesis 2: And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

A while ago I wrote an article about a Christian doctor who refused to take care of a child because he didn’t like her mother due to his beliefs. At the time I was still hoping it was an exception.

Today I found an article on MSNBC about how this seems to be a very common case in the United States. Conservative Christian doctors and hospitals often deny women a range of legal medical care. Ranging from a morning after pill when they’ve been raped, to IVF for lesbians and the list goes on.

It brings up an actual story of one of those women who were raped and refused help by a Christian doctor. He even worked at a Good Samaritan Hospital. Good Samaritan? Refusing help? Wow, what a good Christian you’re being. Disgusting sack of shit.

Worst is though, the law defends these doctors. Right now  that only applies for certain things yet, such as contraception, abortions, sterilisations, and so on. But lawmakers in four States are working on generalizing the bills so doctors can refuse any kind of care that goes against their beliefs. Legally, the wording of that law could even allow doctors to refuse aiding someone in ER, solely because they wear a pentacle or a Thor’s hammer around their neck or on a ring.

This is yet another example why it is impossible to respect Christianity. There is only one way to save the world from this evil, and that is to pulverize their entire religion.

Source: ça marche, les ripostes chrétiennes aux spectacles sataniques. Et les “politiques”?…

A friend of mine who lives in France brought this to my attention. The source is in French, but in my limited translation abilities, I’ll try to summarize it:

In the beginning of their article they brag about how they got a Marilyn Manson show canceled in the past, that was programmed in Marseilles.

It moves on by claiming how vile and evil all of this music is, and they keep bringing up the comparison to the Siege of Jericho. For those unfamiliar with Jericho, it was the one of the first victims in the ever-lasting war for global domination by the judeo-christians. In the bible it is described how the sound of their war horns was enough to crumble the walls of the city and kill every man, woman and child inside. Because we all know how proud it makes those of the Abrahamic religions, to be able to claim slaughtering innocent children. The bible’s full of parts like that anyway.

Either way, back to Hellfest. This year the second edition of the festival is celebrated in Clisson, just south of Nantes in France. I myself can’t go, it’s the same weekend as Graspop (This weekend in fact), and I always go to Graspop. The christians who wrote this article describe the festival as a gathering of metalheads and satanists. At least they’re correct on the metalhead part.

Their article ends with a rant against politicians who let this kind of thing happen.

I’m not sure if many people from France read this website yet. But please, if I get back from Graspop I want to hear in the news that the festival grounds of Hellfest were covered in christian blood this year. If they really want to rant against metal, they can do so inside their churches. You don’t see me going inside their churches to protest against the things they do. Why can’t they leave us alone, just as we leave them alone?

I hate quoting the “Satanic Bible” since I don’t consider myself a practicing satanist, or a satanist at all. However, there are some great truths in there. And I feel these christians should take note of those before they try to interrupt the festival.

When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there.
If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.

News of a few days old, but you know, I hate blogging about the very latest news, since you never know if it’s completely correct until a few days passed and it cooled down a bit.

Vatican cardinal calls on Catholics to stop funding Amnesty

I’ll quote the article in case it goes down sometime … I hate losing good articles.

· Group ‘betrayed mission’ over new abortion policy
· Human rights organisation fears dip in donations

A senior Vatican cardinal said yesterday that Catholics should stop donating to human rights group Amnesty International because of its new policy advocating abortion rights for women if they had been raped, were a victim of incest or faced health risks.

Cardinal Renato Martino, president of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, accused Amnesty of turning its back on its mission to defend human rights.

“The inevitable consequence of this decision, according to the cardinal, will be the suspension of any financing to Amnesty on the part of Catholic organisations and also individual Catholics,” said a statement from Cardinal Martino’s office yesterday.

“AI has betrayed its mission,” Cardinal Martino told the US National Catholic Register in an interview.

Amnesty changed its neutral stance on abortion in April, but its Italy chairman Paolo Pobbiati insisted its new position had been misinterpreted by the cardinal.

“This has nothing to do with legitimising abortion as part of a campaign for human rights, it is to do with combating violence against women,” he said.

“It was partly inspired by our experience in Africa where soldiers rape women in communities they attack to force them to have their children. We also believe women who have had abortions should benefit from medical care regardless of the reason for the abortion. Moreover we aim to promote education and contraception to reduce abortion rates.”

“AI does not take a position on whether abortion should be legal or whether it is right or wrong,” it added in a statement.

In his interview with the National Catholic Register, Cardinal Martino did not see any grey areas.

“The Church teaches that it is never justifiable to kill an innocent life. Abortion is murder,” he said. “To selectively justify abortion, even in the cases of rape, is to define the innocent child within the womb as an enemy, a ‘thing’ that must be destroyed. How can we say that killing a child in some cases is good and in other cases it is evil?”

In a statement released in Italy, Amnesty stated it did not receive funding from the Vatican or the Catholic church. Amnesty also declines support from governments and political parties. But Mr Pobbiati admitted that the fallout for funding could be serious if individual Catholics heeded Cardinal Martino’s advice.

“This could be a danger to donations and we are extremely upset about these statements,” he said.

Amnesty’s joint campaigning with Catholic organisations could also be complicated by the Vatican’s position, he said.

“We mount joint campaigns with organisations like Caritas and the Community of Sant’Egidio against the death penalty and child soldiers and in favour of arms control. We sincerely hope Catholics will not share Martino’s views on funding.”

A quick rhetorical question. Isn’t Amnesty International that organization which protects (among others) Christians from persecution for their beliefs, in countries like China?

It just goes to show once more: Christians don’t give a damn about the greater good, they don’t give a damn about making the world a better place. All they care about is their dogma and lies. The moment you disagree with them, it doesn’t matter how much good you do, because disagreeing with their dogma seems to already be a deadly sin.

This news is somewhat old, but I recently found out about it. The original story seems to have gone already from the KGet site it originated on, but at the moment it was newer, it has even been on the Daily Show apparently.

A tattooed couple brought their child to the doctor’s office because she was having an ear infection. He refused to treat the child, because the tattoos on the parents were against his religious beliefs.

The doctor said he is just following his beliefs, creating a Christian atmosphere for his patients.

Tasha Childress said it’s discrimination.

She said Dr. Gary Merrill wouldn’t treat her daughter for an ear infection because Tasha, the mother, has tattoos.

The writing is on the wall—literally: “This is a private office. Appearance and behavior standards apply.”

For Dr. Gary Merrill of Christian Medical Services, that means no tattoos, body piercings, and a host of other requirements—all standards Merrill has set based upon his Christian faith.

“She had to go that entire night with her ear infection with no medicine because he has his policy,” Tasha Childress said.

Merrill won’t speak on camera, but said based on his values and beliefs, he has standards that he expects in his office.

Quote’s source.

My two main problems with this are:

  • Where in the bible does it state doctors can’t treat tattooed people’s children?
  • Has this doctor never taken the Hippocratic Oath?

Then, lastly, if this doctor really is christian, why is he above the following bible verses?

  • Come to me, all you who suffer and are burdened and I will refresh you. Matthew 11:28
  • He that says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness still. 1 John 2:9
  • Do not judge that you may not be judged. For with what judgement you judge, you shall be judged. Matthew 7:1

I think this shows quite well why modern christianity as a religion is as screwed up as it can be. Seeing how he claims to be a good christian, yet refuses to follow the bible, I think I know why he doesn’t follow the Oath of Hippocrates as a doctor (a practice btw which would get his license revoked in Belgium, and I believe in most civilised countries). He probably got confused and swore the Oath of Hypocrit instead - like most so-called christians.
