The Antichristian Phenomenon

It was suggested I write an introduction first so, uhm, alright. I’m the newest member of ACP’s writing, er, factory. I’ve been blogging on my own about a year or so over at my own opinion blog, but lately have been hoping to become part of a community of similarly minded people. Apparently I succeeded!

Uh, a little about me. I’m kind of awkward. You’d never know, am I right? I’m a seventeen year old girl (not for long! Er, the age, not the gender…heh!) who’s been an atheist for about five years or so, after having been raised by a very religious family. I first started questioning my beliefs when I was about twelve and met my future brother-in-law, Steve. Steve, as I quickly learned, was one of the nicest people in the world, and quickly took me in as his own sister. He also happened to be gay–challenging my father and I’s beliefs. I’m proud to say that after seeing that gay men were not evil, I started to question my beliefs and soon realized how incredibly faulty they were. Unfortunately, my father did not, and still lives with the same delusions.

I’m not much of a debater, preferring instead to ask questions that Christians can never answer convincingly. Why is being homosexual immoral? Why is a God necessary for morality to exist? and so on.

Anyways, I’m a regular reader of the separate blogs of several writers here…so really ecstatic to be among you guys. I love your work!

After only minor revisions of the long standing FAQ Wiki we’ve finally come to including it on the Antichristian Phenomenon website as a finished page. You can click this link or use the top FAQ tab to view the page we’ve all been waiting for.

After a bit of work and discussion I’ve setup the author pages to act as a true profile page. Now each member of the ACP who has written at least one post, will have the info he has provided in his profile, displayed at his author page.

Also, every author page allows comments so if you have anything to say to an author but do not want to derail the comment field of one of his posts, this is the place to go

I’ve also perked up our registration page to reign in spam registration which, even though they do not do harm, are annoying nevertheless.

So if you are looking for an alternative place to display your info (and act as a cool homepage as well), or if you want a place to write but don’t want to set up yet another random blog, now is the time to embrace enlightenment.

I didn’t really notice until just now but the ACP has recently closed its first year of existence. Go us!

Although we have not had much content (just 46 posts), I’m glad that we’re still here.  In case you’re curious, here are some stats.

• Total Unique Visitors: ~11000
• Top Post (Unique views): Debunking Christianity II
• 267 Comments (Avg 5.5 per post)

So keep on posting and visiting and kets see another year of us being here with double the visitors

Hey all, as you might have noticed the comment system of the site has been updated. As was fed up with things generally breaking so I decided to “outsource” it to Intense Debate. Please go and register if you wish so that your comments are assigned to your name.

The good

• You can edit your comments.
• Your can reply threaded with a lot of levels.
• You can use your OpenID now. No more people impersonating you
• Easier to follow a discussion from rss and emails
• You can rate comments and rated people gather popularity. Vote down those trolls!
• It’s shinier

The bad

• There’s no html formatting allowed (for now). This means that previous comments have html tags open, looking ugly and all. I ask you to ignore these for now.
• You can’t reclaim the comments you posted before if you register with IDC (for now)

If you find any more problems or whatever, please comment here.

And here it is; after “borrowing” Reaper’s idea I have now added a new section to the site to promote the spreading of Anti-christianity. Check the links above, comment on the layout, discuss in the forum and help us make it a great addition to the ACP.

These are the Antichristian Phenomenon authors’ answers to a short questionnaire for their profile page. Actual profile pages for individual authors will appear on the site shortly. The pages will include the answers to the questionnaire and potentially a picture. We may change the layout of the pages over time.

Ok, I finally got fed up with the uncustomizability of the previous theme and decided to change it to this one which is much, much more powerful and extendable.

I have now changed the site’s description (which you can see next to the main title on the top) to the more classic “Behold, Bastard son! We are the evil ones.”

This is the one that is the original group description on Last.fm.

Some useful plugins are now activated. If you are familiar with wordpress you are welcome to suggest more. Theme suggestions also welcome.
