Also, make no mistake: Lelianna is portrayed as being an attention seeker, and it is also REPEATEDLY implied that she is COMPLETELY full of shit. Alistair is portrayed as a psychological wuss who can’t think for himself (even though he knows from personal, horrifying circumstances, better than to listen to anything the chantry says…) and would gladly let a junior warden with next to no knowledge of the order completely run (and potentially ruin) EVERYTHING pertaining to the blight, then man up and lead. That would require him to leave his subordinate comfort zone. Sounds pretty damn middle-of-the-road christian to me. Also, Wynne is old. WTF? There should not be ANY character in a FANTASY RPG that I cannot fap to. The. Fuck?

Also, the first dragon age is best played on the pc. The game was designed to please a PC audience and was ported at the last minute to console. Console versions are muffy. Shitty controls, ugly poorly thought out menues and way shittier graphics.

Also, I threatened to suicide bomb EA over DA2, If you bought it you are encouraging crappiness and mediocratude and you should be flogged in the genitals with sizzling bacon. Period. Friends don’t let friends buy crap games, and fans shouldn’t let companies release crap games.

I stopped playing DragonAge for this reason. Well, that and the control mechanism on PS3 is horrible and I got tired of dying in combat because the game didn't notice the 12 times I pressed the damned button again and again trying to get my weapon out. That by itself would only have been a bit annoying, but coupled with the stereotyped dialogs that presumed your choices were to either be religious or be a selfish asshole, and that presumed this was an *accurrate* portrayal of how atheists think, I had had enough.

Being against the church, especially one as mean and nasty as the Chantry is, does NOT imply my character never wants to help people, or wants everyone to live in an anarchist survival of the fittest sort of society, but the game engine seemed to be written by people who did think that's how atheists think. It really ticked me off.

CHANEL bags are so useful in Dragon Age! I tote one all the time to carry my two handed sword, various armor suits, not to mention a lot of healing potions! Polythene bags are so useful in a fantasy world that I exhort all my fellow adventurers to invest heavily in them! I once came up against an ogre and if I didn't have my CHANEL polythene bag I would have been killed! Thank you for your valued support in the war against the BLIGHT!

in dragon age 2 gets even worse, the mages are persecuted for been "abominations" that will hurt everyone even if they dont like to, powerless to stop the "demons" from takin over them, her talents are viewed as a disgrace and there character, as "smug" and "know it all" , at any point they are given the benefit of the doubt they act poorly or down right evil, are constantly acused, and in the game chased by the " rightgeus" … can anyone say sceptics, scientists and gays… damn thats fucked up

Playing Dragon Age was like watching a B-rated horror movie…you keep expecting it to get good near the end, but meanwhile you keep watching the feces fly.

Regardless of how anyone thinks their personal religion was portrayed in this game, it amounted to nothing more than if you were eat the entire contents of someone's colostomy bag for dinner. Pure trash.

Morrigan was not an atheist, she was a witch. Even witches are sometimes brighter than atheists, since at least they know they are helping the side of evil.

Shale was a golem…a magically animated pile of rubble. Yes, I believe that would describe atheism pretty well.

Did anybody point out that part of Morrigan's background was that she was… in fact… lonely? I don't know because I didn't read all the comments. Ha. She spent most her time growing up being lonely, and spent the rest of it kicking back with animals as one herself, spying on villagers, and hugging trees. When she wasn't doing those things she was perpetually tied to her mother. lol

Personally I found the whole Chantry, and the Maker thing got extremely tiresome the deeper I got into the game. It was like a half-assed attempt at portraying the current religious batshit nutty debates and happenings in the States. The fact that it is a fantasy setting though, not America, a fantasy setting with magic, and darkspawn, and demons and archdemons, you kind of take it as a given that there being a single 'Maker' isn't a stretch and wouldn't generally get a lot of opposition from the populace. It's not like there are alternative theories as to where the darkspawn came from, or why the Chantry has managed to spread throughout Ferelden. o.O
