икониI found this blog the other day through reddit, which is basically daily stories from “escorts” to abortion clinics. That is : People who go to abortion clinics and escort clients towards the door, in order to support them from the onslaught of harassment from the anti-abortion protesting crowds which are forming a gauntlet around the pavement. And all these people are predominantly christians.
And then I read stories like this
But at one point she turned to face her tormenters -
who were mouthing their usual – “don’t let your baby die – if you need money, we’ll give you money – we love you, we’ll do anything, anything, let someone adopt your baby, please, please, please…”
and she told them her baby was already dead
She told them, through sobs, that she carried one baby til it was born dead and she couldn’t do that again.
Wouldn’t you think they’d have shut up and left her alone? In the face of her pain at having to go through this, wouldn’t you think they’d have backed off?
No.
Instead, they continued to tell her not to kill her already dead baby.
Really.
Fuck. This. Shit!
Fuck it sideways with a jagged screwdriver.
Christians in the so called 1rst world, like to think that they are better than the religious nutters in places like backward Muslim countries. But the only difference is that they’ve replaced physical abuse with emotional abuse at every opportunity. Especially against vulnerable targets, such as women making some of the most difficult choices in their lives.
And to top it off, they are monumental hypocrites to boot.
It’s this kind of thing that reminds me just why exactly I became an Anti-Christian.
The Antichristian Phenomenon

Not that what you say isn't a well established argument, but what is a "religion of any fate"?

This all comes back to Christians fundamental belief that they are somehow superior to others. Others who chose to think for themselves, those who decide to think and not blindly follow the beguilement of some pervert in a suit standing behind a pulpit. Belief in the invisible man has stunted the growth of the human mind. Christianity; the ignored mental disorder of the century, the problem being finding a medication and producing enough of said medication.

Christians aren't the only stain, quit pretending it's all their fault. The whole damn religious philosophy is a mental illness, monotheist, polytheist, any theology supports, at its base a sense of privileged knowledge, superiority without reason.
Most members would disagree of course, that they are 'humble'. But the fact of the matter is they are not, their thoughts are twisted and they have lost touch with true reasoning.
Blame humanity. The Jew, the Muslim, the Hindu. It's their fault for continuing and spreading their disease.
I have cured myself of this illness through years of research and by returning to reason and logic. It's a choice.
To you deluded sods who have had Christ "speak" to you, I know the phenomenon. It's not exclusive, it's not special, it has nothing to do with your religion. It's all about your "belief". You're deluded.

Not all religions are about superiority. Buddhism comes immediately to mind.

Fundamentalist thought is a combination of genetics and lack of experience. Anti-abortionists are clearly lacking in both. Religious leaders do not do the same thing and do not believe the same shit their followers do. And yes, if You are religious, You are following the "words" of some man or woman. Not some god.

db0 – buddhism does ask its followers to submit to wisdom of their leaders as well. There are many buddhist countries were the believers are oppressed by the leaders. Actually, the most per capita in the world.

They have developed a vaccine to help reduce the effects of extremism in the brain and have been using it in the Middle East for several years.

What db0 said. Also, many esoteric movements often emphasize the growth of mankind as a whole, such as Wicca.

You and the author of the story you quote do not understand the story. Read it again.
". . . she carried one baby til it was born dead and she couldn’t do that again."
She was not going in to "abort" a dead baby. Sometime in the past she had already GIVEN BIRTH to a baby who was dead. She was thus entering the clinic with a live child in her, her second pregnancy, and the demonstrators outside correctly understood the woman. You did not.

You're the one who didn't understand the story. You would have if you read the original article. The second baby was already dead as well.

I'm not sure this has to do with buddhism and not with those countries calling themselves buddhist. Kinda like how North Korea calls itself a democratic republic.
