I forgot to mention that religions obtain their propositions by means of a deductive scheme, i.e. with refference to a sacred text with fixed supposedly meanings assigned to words. This implies that conceptual apparata of religions are static, if they can be said to contain any semantic information at all. There is thus a fundamental difference beween the religious stance of fixed dogmatism, and a critical "openness" to new concepts to be found in scientific enquiry.
Thus, religion does not contribute to the wealth of concepts one may find oneself in the fortunate position to aquaint with.

Not only is religion non-scientific in that a subset of its propositions don't seem to be falsifiable, there are perhaps even more sinister forces at work. In science, there is the phenomenon of growth of the conceptual apparatus with which we describe a system. This happens continuously, for example in instances of unification (where different things or phenomena are understood through a common structure) and new emperical data.
