Just a quick article from me today. Swedish newspaper Metro had a small article in the Gothenburg version this morning about how the Swedish organization JO (Justitieombudsmannen), which is a political organ supposed to function as a report system for citizens, has now postulated that it was wrong to take down pictures of Satan pooping on a cruxified Jesus at a punk rock festival in the town of Linköping.

It can also be noted that the Autotune version of Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawking has now gained such popularity that it was mentioned on Nanok!

Keep us updated on subsequent responses to this. In the Netherlands, this think it would be quite a controversial topic.

I really doubt there might be much controversy involved actually, unless some small extremist Christian group would start shouting about that it was right to pull them down. Atm, the whole helicopter hijacking is taking the most place as a news item. I can try to keep track of the event though, if you'd like.

I don't think it would be that much of a problem. It's covered by our constitution, article seven. Only a judge can disallow certain imagery, or parliament of course, through law. Just like we've done with the swastika. But the funny thing is, if you can see Satan's genitals, and the organization can't prove people visiting the festival are at least 16 years old, it's illegal. There's a chance a conservative judge would deem a goat man pooping on a half naked dying man god nailed to a piece of wood offensive. But I truly doubt it.

Whenever I’m reading posts like this I can’t help but think of how things have changed since I was young. I guess I’m getting old, but I miss the way things used to be.
