I read this post and the comments that followed. I noticed slight mediums that have been pointed out like "snake" and misspelling of Noah - It's seriously like this: If we were on a blog referring to the existence of Santa Clause, and we all had a similar vessel of information, then someone used the word "deer" when referring to Rudolf -or- misspelled an elf's name; it would be accepted on either side of the argument as human error. Not fundamental fodder for thought! If that's all you have to contribute to this thread, you have made yourself out to be an idiot! Moving along: Thank you Waldheri (author) for the insight. That was a powerful correlation between knowledge and God's disapproval of it! We can thrash the bible beginning at the first page and point out discrepancies. That's not really very productive. Its the meat in the text that really needs to get out there. Like God is a vindictive, murderous, narcissistic, evil mother fucker that supports womanizing, child rape, and domestic abuse! This is a FACT based DIRECTLY from the bible. I've pointed out 1 thing today to a few folks, and I'll share it now. Turn the first page of the king james bible and you'll see the word "gold" appear a few times on that SECOND PAGE. OK, next turn to Joshua 6:19- Allow me to paraphrase this: When the second page of the bible is turned we immediately get a glimpse into its true purpose. Then as we progress thru Joshua, shit -gets- real! God takes Joshua off all by himself and tells him to kill everyone in the other village. "Utterly destroy" EVERYTHING!! except the little girls, of course. These little girls are now available to rape and, whatever... Umm, my point, yea, ... destroy everything except the gold and silver... "the Lord finds favor" in these metals "bring them back to the house of the lord". WHAT THE FUCK!!! God knew right there at the beginning (and apparently knows everything) that he was gonna need lots of gold to make himself happy. Why didn't he just hit himself up with a little extra between "in the begining" and "the day he rested"? I'll tell you why: BECAUSE IT A BUNCH OF BULLSHIT! this is the same kind of argument about what Santa feeds the reindeer- not - a - damn - thing! It is not real! p.s. Why didn't God just create a giant piece of gold in the middle of space/time and stick his dick in it? I'm sorry, I've already answered that...

Child - What've you been smoking!?? Didn't you remember to pick the strychnine out of the mushrooms?
This is the most fuzzy, twisted interpretation I've ever heard. By the way Christian or anti-Christian, Hebrew or Gentile, Black, White, Red, Yellow,
Fuschia or Jasmine - one really does need a comprehensive foundation in the practice of READING. Colloquial versions and myths and monsters aside, critical reading takes much more effort than you've put into this tract.

"I just want to say that I think the accusation that the two creation accounts in Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 are contradictory is justified".

There is no contradiction. There are two distinct acts of creation in chapters 1&2...one is the creation of mankind as a whole...the other is the creation of one particular man (and woman) for one particular purpose.

Adam was created as a "Tiller of the Ground"...this is a metaphorical reference to the beginning of the seedline to Christ. In order to create a seed, the ground must first be plowed (aka tilled). As such the geneaology of Christ can be traced directly back to Adam. It is a common assumption (albeit a false one) that Adam & Eve were the patriarchs of the entire human race.

"Skipping ahead a bit, we’ll get our first share of talking animals: a snake, who seduces Eve to eat from the tree of knowledge."

You need to get yourself a concordance before going any further with your synopsis. Please show me where the term "Snake" is used in ANYWHERE in Genesis. Additionally, the "Tree of Knowledge" you mention, is referred to (in Gen) as the tree of "The Knowledge of GOOD & EVIL". You make it sound as though Gen is referring only to knowledge in general...Genesis is very clear as to the limited type of knowledge it refers to.
